Summary, etc. ราวปี ค.ศ. ๑๙๐๐ ที่กรุงลอนดอน มีเด็กหญิงชื่อ พอลลี่ พลัมเมอร์ เป็นเพื่อนบ้านกับเด็กชายชื่อ ดิกอรี่ เคิร์ก มิตรภาพของเด็กทั้งสองเริ่มต้นเมื่อปิดภาคฤดูร้อนคราวหนึ่ง ทั้งสองเล่นสำรวจบ้าน เมื่อทั้งคู่เปิดประตูบานหนึ่ง ก็ทำให้เกิดเรื่องราวต่างๆ ตามมา ทั้งคู่ได้แหวนฅนละวง แหวนนี้ทำให้ทั้งสองได้ไป 'ป่าระหว่างโลก' ซึ่งเป็นสถานที่ที่ไม่ได้อยู่ในโลกไหนทั้งนั้น แต่เป็นสถานที่ที่อยู่ในโลกต่างๆ "เราจะไปยังโลกทุกโลกได้ ถ้าเรามาอยู่ที่ป่านี้" เด็กๆ ลองออกสำรวจไปยังโลกต่างๆ และได้ไปนาร์เนีย ดินแดนซึ่งเพิ่งกำเนิดขึ้น อัสลานปรารถนาจะปลูกต้นไม้ต้นหนึ่ง ซึ่งทำให้นางแม่มดร้ายไม่กล้ากล้ำกราย ต้นไม้นั้นจะปกป้องนาร์เนีย อัสลานมอบหมายให้ดิกอรี่ไปเอาเมล็ดแอ๊ปเปิ้ลของต้นไม้นั้นมา เรื่องนี้เป็นการเล่ากำเนิดของตู้เสื้อผ้า ท้ายเรื่อง ดิกอรี่นำไม้ส่วนหนึ่งจากต้นแอ๊ปเปิ้ลมาต่อเป็นตู้เสื้อผ้า ซึ่งกลายเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการเดินทางไปมาระหว่างโลกของเรากับนาร์เนีย ดิกอรี่ เคิร์ก คือศาสตราจารย์ชรา ในเรื่อง ตู้พิศวง นั่นเอง สำนักพิมพ์ผีเสื้อ (ตุลาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๐)
